Site updates: September 2026

More visitors, more interest in profiles

September brought strong growth in visitors, and people spent more time exploring the directory. Comparing the same period in September and August, visitors browsed more pages, stayed longer and were less likely to leave after a single page.

That showed up in how people used profiles too. More visitors opened galleries, read biographies and checked booking information. Contact actions increased considerably, and interest in joining the directory grew as well. It is encouraging to see that growth reaching the companions and agencies listed with us.

Availability in the right time zone

When you browse a profile abroad, your own clock is not always the right reference. Availability now follows the local time of the companion’s location, with a note explaining which time the schedule uses.

We also improved how overnight hours are handled, so availability carries correctly into the following day. Where a country covers several time zones and we cannot reliably determine the right one, we avoid guessing.

Easier browsing

Filters and sorting saw much greater use this month. We made a few improvements around those interactions:

  • When your filters return no matches, there is now a clear explanation and a link to clear them.
  • Filter controls remain accessible on mobile even when the result list is empty.
  • Dropdowns work better with keyboard navigation and have clearer labels.
  • Gallery controls and dialogs received accessibility improvements.
  • Visitors who prefer reduced motion get fewer animations, and content remains readable without JavaScript.

We also tidied up location-page headings and removed links from tour schedules where a destination did not yet have a directory page.

Better profile management on mobile

For agencies and independents, editing a profile on a phone should be straightforward. Profile sections now have a scrollable tab bar with controls to move between them, and the selected section stays in view.

We also adjusted dropdown behaviour so opening a selection menu on a touch device does not unnecessarily bring up the keyboard.

For agencies and independents a few practical changes went into the management platform this month:

  • Larger files can now be uploaded.
  • Independent registration separates your working name from your account details more clearly.
  • Editing a companion’s name no longer automatically changes their public profile link.
  • Agencies can delete a companion profile directly, with a confirmation explaining what will be removed.
  • Website fields provide clearer validation before saving.

Progress on the AI profile assistant

In August, we mentioned the assistant we are building to help prepare profiles from an agency’s or independent’s existing website. September brought further work on reading those pages and extracting useful profile information, including rates and currencies.

We also added controls around repeated and overlapping imports. The aim remains to reduce the amount of information you have to enter again while keeping the resulting profile accurate and ready for review.

Work behind the scenes

We improved how the site handles interrupted or unavailable data requests and added monitoring to help us identify problems sooner.

Much of this work is less visible than a new feature, but it supports the everyday experience: opening profiles, browsing locations and managing listings reliably.
